BJ and I get into a lot of adventures photographing events, and let me tell ya- today was no exception!
We left the studio at the bright-eyed and bushy-tailed hour of 6am to head to Rockdale, IL to photograph the Rockdale Ramblin’ Run- the toughest 10k in the Midwest. As a lover of running and all things athletic, I was super excited. But here’s the thing- it’s 35 degrees with a windchill of about 20 degrees (not to mention the 22mph wind gusts) in April! The Texan inside of me screams for warmth and sunshine.
Despite the arctic climate, over 600 runners of all ages came out to show us what they’ve got.
The winner of the race finished under 35 minutes- unbelievable. Everyone did so well, I wish that I had participated! (Maybe next year when it isn’t freakishly cold 😉 )
P.s. Did anyone know that Dunkin’ trucks exist? BJ and I almost fainted in delight!
Despite the bitter cold, biting winds, and numb appendages- victory sure is sweet!
Thanks again to Brad and the JPD for allowing us to be a part of your event! I had better start training for next year! 😉

With about 7000 photos under our belts for today, I’d say it’s time for a cup of coffee, a cozy blanket, and a good book!
Whaddya say?
