Image Group Goes on the Road!
At Image Group, Bill Jurevich, aka BJ, is not only one of our owners and the boss-man, he is also our head photographer (but of course!) Most of our commercial clients are sent to BJ’s extension in order for him to schedule, plan, and staff their large events with the proper photographers and assistants for the job. Not only does he supply his clients with the services required, he supplies his staff with the proper resources in order to do their jobs seamlessly to give our clients the best product possible. On top of his business and photography skills, he’s also fun to talk with because he is so personable! On behalf of all those that dread awkward silences, we thank you BJ for being skilled in small-talk!
During the fall and spring, BJ has to duck out of the studio early some days in order to head down the road to Olivet to teach photography courses! In fall semesters he typically instructs Introduction to Photography and Photo Seminar. His standard Spring semesters include Intro to Photography, Studio Photography, and Introduction to Photojournalism courses. Introduction to Photography includes teaching students basic camera functions, how to frame the perfect photograph, and sending them off to try it for themselves. Photo Seminar courses involve creating a business model and learning how to make yourself marketable. Studio Photography aids in students’ ability to manipulate and master the principles of artificial light in order to achieve their desired effects for their photos. Lastly, Intro to Photojournalism courses prepare students for the realities of working in the field of photography including how to stay afloat in such a competitive industry nowadays due to widespread technology including cameras; such as smartphones. Fun fact: Every photographer in our studio has taken courses from BJ during their undergraduate careers at Olivet! We all thought he was such a great teacher, he had to make an equally great boss!
BJ is titled many things such as owner, boss, friend, husband, and professor. However, his favorite titles are father and grandfather! BJ and his better half of almost thirty years (wow!) Nancy, have two beautiful daughters, Jamie and Annie. Jamie is a mom to everyone’s favorite two boys, Nolan and Caden! When BJ, affectionately known as “Iba,” isn’t doing office work, meeting with clients, or photographing the next big event, you’ll find him at his grandsons’ little league games, pre-school graduations, and watching them reach milestones, of course while photographing it to cherish the memories! Family means everything to BJ, which is why as employees we are so thankful to be considered part of the Image Group family! Here’s a peak into the Jurevich and Bleyle households:
We understand that all too often the title ‘Boss’ is known as a “four letter word,” but not here at Image Group! We are able to speak with BJ not only about work concerns, but personal ones as well. He truly cares about his employees and shows us just that every single day. Even the simplest “Thank you!” we recieve before he leaves the building every day means so much to each and every one of us. With that said, here’s a large “THANK YOU, BJ!!” from all of your Image Group family. We couldn’t ask for a better boss!
